The Regina Police Service was dispatched this morning to a series of property-damage motor vehicle collisions that resulted in thousands of dollars’ damage but, fortunately, no apparent injuries.
At about 8:32 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, police were dispatched for a report of motor vehicle collisions in the area of the 1300 to 1500 blocks of Victoria Avenue. EMS and Fire and Protective Services personnel also attended the call. A 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer struck a number of parked vehicles as well as one that was occupied. Preliminary investigation indicates the Lancer, driven by a 44 year-old male, was eastbound on Victoria Avenue when it collided with two parked vehicles in the 1500 block of Victoria. The Lancer continued eastbound and went on to strike another five vehicles in the 1300 block of Victoria, only one of which was occupied and also moving east on Victoria. Fortunately that driver had no apparent injuries. The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer, a 44 year-old male, did not appear to be injured but he was taken to the hospital for a medical assessment. Investigators believe he may have experienced a medical issue which precipitated the collisions.
Until the conclusion of this investigation, it is not known if there will be any charges.
