A 31 year-old Regina woman is facing charges, including attempt murder, in connection with an event earlier this year that sent a Regina man and woman to hospital. The accused was arrested, without incident, yesterday in Regina as the result of investigation into a May 15th incident.
On May 15, 2012, at approximately 11:59 p.m., police received a call from a house on Bauermeister Street, reporting that at least two males and a female had forced their way into the house and assaulted the couple living there. Two male suspects were reportedly carrying firearms. A male victim, who was 35 years old at the time, was taken to hospital by EMS with apparent gunshot wounds. The female victim, who was 25 years old at the time, was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries consistent with an assault.
Investigation into this incident has led to the arrest of one 31 year-old female. The investigation is continuing.
Thirty-one year-old Tara Lee BIRD, DOB: 1981-05-23, of Regina, is facing one charge of Attempt Murder [239 CC]; Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC]; and Break, Enter and Commit Robbery [348(1)(b) CC]. BIRD will make her first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012.
