A 33 year-old Regina man is facing three charges including Accessing, and Possession of, Child Pornography after a search of a residence in the 1000 block of Robinson Street in Regina.
On October 17, 2012, Regina Police Service members went to a house in the 1000 block of Robinson Street to check on the conditions of a probation order issued to a Regina male who is serving part of his sentence in the community. Those conditions include that this individual not possess a computer or any other device capable of accessing the internet. Officers found a cell phone and conducted further investigation with the help of a Regina member of the Internet Child Exploitation, or ICE, unit. The investigation led to three charges against the male resident of that address.
Thirty-three year-old Benjamin M. COLLINS, DOB: 1979-09-11, of Regina is charged with Possession of Child Pornography [163.1(4) CC]; Accessing Child Pornography [163.1(4.1) CC]; and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. COLLINS made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. (today) Thursday, October 18, 2012.
