Two people, a male and a female, have been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder in connection with an early morning incident on Thursday, September 27th that sent two males to hospital with serious injuries.
The incident began sometime before 2:05 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, when police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Angus Street for a report of a group of people fighting. Police and EMS arrived in the area and police located a 32 year-old male in the area of 8th Avenue and Angus Street. The male appeared to have sustained a number of stab wounds. He was transported to hospital by EMS. At about the same time, other officers located a second injured person, a 39 year-old male, on the rear deck of a house in the 1400 block of Angus Street. The second victim had also sustained apparent stab wounds; he was also taken to hospital by EMS. Both victims remain in hospital and are said to be improving. In the first few hours of the investigation, police took a male and a female into custody for questioning. As of the evening of September 27, 2012, there was sufficient evidence to support charges against the two suspects.
Thirty-seven year-old Darren Douglas SINNER, DOB: 1975-02-10 and 33 year-old Jerry Michael Felecity DESJARLAIS (female), DOB: 1979-06-24, both of Regina, are jointly charged with two charges of Attempt Murder, contrary to section 239 of the Criminal Code. Each is also charged with a Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. Both SINNER and DESJARLAIS will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012.
