Three persons have been charged as the result of investigation into three unrelated robberies that occurred in Regina over the weekend. The events are as follows:
1) On Saturday, September 1, 2012, at about 4:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Prince of Wales Drive for a report of a robbery and assault. Two 20 year-old males and a 17 year-old male reported that they had been involved in an altercation with three unknown male suspects. While the victims sought shelter in their vehicle, a green Pontiac Sunfire, two of the suspects smashed the windows of the car with a baseball bat. The victims sustained injuries consistent with a physical altercation but none required treatment in hospital. A cell phone and a hat were taken from the victims. The suspect vehicle left the scene, north-bound on Prince of Wales Drive. There was a plate number obtained which led police to a house in the 800 block of Grace Street, where one of the suspects was arrested. The other two suspects have been identified and warrants have been requested for their arrests on charges of Robbery, Assault and Mischief.
Charged in connection with this case is 18 year-old Brandt Daniel Ian BIRD, DOB: 1993-09-16, of Regina, is charged with Assault [266 CC]. BIRD was released for a court appearance on September 26, 2012.
2) On Sunday, September 4, 2012, at about 9:15 p.m., police were dispatched to East Regina to the home of 13 year-old male who reported to his family that an unknown male had stolen his bicycle. Preliminary investigation indicated the victim and a group of friends were in the area of Cavendish Street and Brotherton Avenue, when they were approached by a male who demanded the boy’s bicycle. Investigation led to the arrest of a 19 year-old male who was subsequently charged.
Nineteen year-old Kyle Mitchell MUSQUA, DOB: 1993-01-18, of Regina, is charged with Robbery [343(a) CC] and a Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. MUSQUA made his first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
3) On Sunday, September 2, 2012, just before midnight, police were dispatched to the corner of Dewdney Avenue and Cavendish Street for a report of a robbery. The initial information received indicated a male approached another male and female, produced a knife and demanded money. The suspect male would not let the victims leave. When police arrived, the suspect, who was quite intoxicated, was still at the scene. He was taken into custody without incident and charged.
Thirty year-old Cory Alexander FOUCHERE, DOB: 1982-06-26, of Regina, is facing two charges of Robbery With Intent to Steal [343(c) CC]. FOUCHERE made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
