A 31 year-old female is facing drug-related charges and a 30 year-old male is in hospital with charges pending his release as a result of investigation into an explosion at a North West Regina home on August 25, 2012.
Police were dispatched to the house in the 1100 block of N. Blanchfield Streetat about 7:36 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012. The Regina Fire Department had responded to a fire and explosion at that address and then discovered signs of possible drug activity, prompting a request for police. Preliminary investigation indicates that the explosion may have been the result of production of cannabis resin. Evidence was seized at the scene, a 30 year-old male was taken to hospital byEMS for significant burn injuries. Further investigation led to the seizure of a large quantity of marihuana and the arrest of a 31 year-old woman (resident at the Blanchfield St. address).
Charged is 31 year-old Tara M. MILLER, DOB: 1981-05-27, of Regina. MILLER was in court on Monday, August 27th charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana) CDSA 5(2) and Produce Cannabis Resin CDSA 7(1). There are charges pending against the 30 year-old male, upon his release from hospital and completion of the investigation.
