Two males, ages 27 and 31, are facing charges arising from investigation into what was initially reported as the abduction of an 18 year-old Regina female. The 18 year-old abruptly left a house in the 4300 block of 3rd Avenue North just after 10:00 p.m. last night (Thursday, August 23, 2012) after two males arrived in a vehicle, smashed some windows of the house and allegedly engaged in an altercation with the occupants of the house. One of the occupants of the house reported the 18 year-old abducted; the young woman was located, unharmed, at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012, in south Regina.
Just after 3:06 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012, police stopped a vehicle which matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the alleged abduction. Four people: three males and a female; were taken into custody without incident. After investigation, two of the males were charged in connection with the previous night’s events at the house on the 4300 block of 3rd Avenue North. The third male occupant of the vehicle was released and the female is still in custody at this time, pending further investigation.
Twenty-seven year-old Ian Thomas KLOWAK, DOB: 1985-02-09, of Regina, and 31 year-old Justin Ray Michael WISZNIOWSKI, DOB: 1980-10-10, of Winnipeg, MB, are jointly charged with Mischief [430(4) CC]. Ian Thomas KLOWAK is also charged with Assault [266 CC] and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. Justin Ray Michael WISZNIOWSKI is also facing two charges of Uttering Threats [264.1(1)(a) CC] and two charges of Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. Both KLOWAK and WISZNIOWSKI will make their court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on September 18, 2012.
Investigation into this matter is continuing but there are no further details for release at this time.
