A 31 year-old Regina male is facing two charges of Aggravated Assault after an incident early this morning that sent two other males to hospital with apparent stab wounds.
Just before 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, a police car on patrol in the area of 4th Avenue and Elphinstone Street was flagged down by two males. When officers stopped it was apparent that there had been an altercation and the two males were injured. EMS transported a 22 year-old Regina male and a 26 year-old Yorkton male to hospital with apparent stab wounds. The injuries were described as more serious in the case of one victim, but not life-threatening. Preliminary investigation indicated the two victims were walking in the 3700 block of 4th Avenue when they were approached by a group of males. An altercation ensued in which the victims were injured. Investigation led to identification of a suspect, a 31 year-old Regina male. That individual was located by police at a house in the 700 block of Athol Street, arrested without incident and subsequently charged in connection with this incident.
Thirty-one year-old Trevor Howard WHITEQUILL, DOB: 1981-06-03, of Regina is facing two charges of Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC]; one charge of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose [88 CC] and a Breach of Undertaking [145(5.1) CC]. WHITEQUILL will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
