The Regina Police Service wants to remind residents that leaving items in vehicles encourages thieves to break in and take those items. When you are out and about this weekend, make sure to remove it or risk losing it. When parking at an event or simply parking at a friend’s house, remove anything of value that may encourage thieves to break in. It could be anything from a few dollars in change to a wallet or ipod. You worked hard to purchase those items, why let someone else take it for free? Regina Police are also encouraging residents to think about the further effects of leaving items in a vehicle overnight. There have been several thefts from unlocked vehicles where thieves took a garage door opener and then gained access to the garage.
A few moments spent in crime prevention can save considerable loss and expense. The Regina Police Service invites vehicle owners to help us stop car diggers by removing all valuables from the vehicle. If you are the victim of a property crime such as theft from auto, please report it to us right away at 777-6500 or online at reginapolice.ca. If you see a crime in progress, call 911.
