Regina Police were dispatched at 2:58 this morning, July 4th, 2012, to a residence on Cavendish Street for a complaint of a break and enter. The victim stated that he had caught two males breaking in to his house. He confronted the males and there was an altercation and the complainant is alleged to have stabbed one of the males, a 25 year old, multiple times. The two suspects then fled on foot. A member of the Canine Unit tracked the 25 year old male to an area around 10th Avenue and Regent Street. Although the suspect was not compliant, he was successfully taken into custody.
Dennis Alfred BIRD, DOB: 1987/02/12, of Regina, is charged with Assault [CC266], Attempt Break and Enter [CC348 (1)(A)], Breach Probation [CC733.1(1)], Fail to Comply/Appear [CC145(3)]. BIRD first appeared in Provincial Court this morning at 9:30 a.m.
The second male suspect is described as in his 20s, 6’0, 180 pounds with dark skin and medium to short hair, wearing jeans and a dark T Shirt.
