The Regina Police Service is asking for information from the public that could assist in the investigation of an aggravated assault that sent a 19 year-old male to hospital early Sunday morning with apparent stab wounds.
At approximately 3:59 a.m., on Sunday, June 17, 2012, police responded to the area of 4th Avenue and Princess Street for a report of a male who was injured. Police arrived and located a 19 year-old male, who had sustained a number of apparent stab wounds. The male victim was taken to hospital by EMS. Preliminary investigation into this incident indicates the assault did not happen where the victim was found. It is believed the victim was walking from a bar in the downtown area to a friend’s house when he was assaulted by a group of up to four males. The persons, who found the victim at 4th and Princess and notified police, were not witnesses to the assault and the victim has not been able to provide much information to describe his assailants.
