A 42 year-old Regina male is facing a total of seven charges including Keeping a Common Bawdy House, Procuring and other prostitution-related offences as the result of a two-month investigation by the Regina Police Service Vice Unit. A 21 year-old female is charged with Making Child Pornography in connection with the same investigation. One of the victims in this case was fifteen years old at the time of the alleged offences.
The charges stem from an investigation into alleged prostitution-related activities that was initiated by RPS Vice Unit investigators on March 13, 2012. The officers began the investigation as a result of monitoring online advertisements for escort agencies. Further investigation led to the arrest, at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, of a 42 year-old Regina male and a 21 year-old Regina female at a residence in the 6500 block of Rochdale Boulevard. The arrests occurred without incident.
Forty-two year-old Kevin James BRUNETTE, DOB: 1970-02-16, of Regina, is charged with two counts of Living on the Avails of Prostitution [212(1)(j) CC]; Living on the Avails of Prostitution of a Person under the age of 18 [212(2) CC]; Communicating for the Purposes of Sex with a Person under the age of 18 [212(4) CC]; Make Available Child Pornography [163.1(3) CC]; Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC] and Keeping a Common Bawdy House [210(1) CC]. Twenty-one year-old Farrah-Marie Lynn RYDER, DOB: 1990-06-27, of Regina is charged with Making Child Pornography [163.1(2) CC]. Both BRUNETTE and RYDER made their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Thursday, May 10, 2012. This investigation is ongoing.
