The Regina Police Service is re-examining the circumstances of a fatal fire in February that took the lives of two Regina residents. The fire, at a house in the 1900 block ofMontreal Streeton February 17, 2012, resulted in the deaths of a 25 year-old woman and a 40 year old man. (Need info from Chief Coroner Stewart as to whether he has released the names.)
The initial investigation into this fire pointed to the conclusion that the fire was accidental in nature, however preventable. Police have recently gathered more information that has prompted another look at the entire case. As with any police investigation, the introduction of new information prompts – in fact, compels – police to re-examine the circumstances of the case in light of the new information. It also re-introduces the opportunity to ask members of the public, once again, for any information that may be pertinent to this case.
