The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation into a sudden death that occurred at the City of Regina landfill yesterday, Thursday, March 22, 2012. Police are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner and Occupational Health and Safety in establishing the circumstances of this death.
The deceased person is a 45 year-old Regina male. His family has been notified of his death. The preliminary investigation into this death indicates that this is not a criminal case; therefore the police responsibility is to assist the Coroner and Occupational Health and Safety, as this incident occurred at a workplace. The name of the deceased person will not be released by police.
The Regina Police Service was notified of this incident at 4:09 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012. The initial response to the scene included police,EMS, the Coroner and Occupational Health and Safety. The Coroner has ordered an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
