Members of the media are invited to attend a technical briefing on the results of the Community Perceptions of the Regina Police Service Survey. The briefing will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 1330 hours at Regina Police Service Headquarters. The briefing will include a presentation of the analysis of the survey and will be followed by a news conference. Mayor Pat Fiacco and Police Chief Troy Hagen will be in attendance and available for interview.
The survey was conducted between August 15 – September 1, 2011 with an additional survey carried out from September 19-23, 2011. It was requested by the Regina Police Service to gain information about public perceptions of police and crime. The questions related to six general topics: police effectiveness; police responsiveness; visibility and presence of police; fear of crime; trust and confidence in police; and, where applicable, perceptions of the police service centres located inRegina’s Central District.
