The Regina Police Service is looking for additional information to assist in concluding a case of a possible suspicious person near a Regina elementary school on Thursday, February 9, 2012.
On Thursday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m., the School Resource Officer for an elementary school on Graham Road learned, from the school principal, that a 10 year-old female student was frightened about 30 minutes earlier when a male, walking behind her on her way back to school, called out to her. The child reported that the male was an adult, approximately 50 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. When the male called out to her, saying, “Hey get back here,” she was frightened and ran to the school. The male continued to walk past the school. The child confirmed that the male did not make any physical contact with her. The officer advised the student that she had done the right thing by expressing her concern and encouraged her to walk with an older sibling as a precaution.
At this time, nothing criminal has occurred in this incident; there is no information that police can further investigate.
