The Regina Police Service, with the help of trained volunteers with Search and Rescue Regina (SARR), is commencing a ground search today in its efforts to locate 28 year-old Brandy Rene WESAQUATE, who has not had contact with family or friends since January 1, 2012. Trained volunteers will search the area surrounding the 900 block of Rae Street, where WESAQUATE was last seen. The search will occur on Monday, January 23, 2012, with searchers staging at 9:00 a.m. at the Performing Arts Centre at 1077 Angus Street. Search and Rescue Regina volunteers will be looking for any physical evidence that may be linked to WESAQUATE. Police are also asking home and property owners in Regina to search their yards and any outbuildings for any sign of WESAQUATE.
Twenty-eight year-old Brandy Rene WESAQUATE, DOB: 1983-02-04, of Regina is described as Aboriginal, about 5’ 10” tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes. WESAQUATE was last seen on January 1, 2012, at about 1:30 a.m., at a residence in the 900 block Rae Street. WESAQUATE was last seen wearing faded blue jeans, a white Adidas full-zip hooded jacket with either black or navy stripes down the sleeves, and white “board-style” shoes. WESAQUATE was reported missing to police on January 10, 2012. Police issued news releases on WESAQUATE’s disappearance on January 11th and 17th, but have not been able to locate her. Family and friends of Brandy WESAQUATE say that is it very unusual for her not have contact with them for such an extended period.
