The Regina Police Service is advising the public of the possible presence of stolen firearms in the community and also requesting any information that could assist police as they investigate an overnight Break & Enter to a business in east Regina. Note: there is no indication, at this time. this Break & Enter is connected to a vehicle robbery on Arens Road this morning.
Just after 6:10 a.m. today (December 13, 2011) police were notified of a Break and Enter to a sporting goods business in east Regina. It’s believed that sometime after midnight today (December 13, 2011), unknown suspects entered the business premises and stole a quantity of merchandise, including approximately 50 firearms, of various types, and ammunition. This incident is under investigation and, at this time, police have not recovered any of the stolen weapons or identified the suspect or suspects responsible.
The Regina Police Service is advising the public of the possible presence of stolen firearms in the community for people’s awareness and protection. Police also recognize that residents may assist in recovering the stolen firearms. Anyone who comes into contact with someone illegally selling a firearm should contact police immediately at 777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Anyone who sees someone in possession of a firearm should call 9-1-1.
