A 26 year-old Regina male is facing a number of charges after a domestic-related incident, last Friday evening, involving a rifle.
On Friday, November 25, 2011, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Regina Police Service dispatched officers to a house in the 2400 block of Elliot Street after a report of an assault with a firearm against a 25 year-old female. The victim was en route to the hospital and alleged that the male suspect had struck her with the firearm and uttered threats against her. Officers accompanied the victim to hospital for treatment of her injuries and to further investigate the incident, while other police officers went to the house on the 2400 block of Elliot Street. Police were able to apprehend the male suspect without incident and recovered a rifle in a bag in the house. The subsequent investigation led to charges against the male suspect.
Twenty-six year-old Franklin Scott BARON, DOB: 1985-07-25, of Regina is charged with:
– Uttering Threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
– Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC];
– Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order [117.01(1) CC];
– Pointing a Firearm [87 CC]; and
– Careless Use of a Firearm [86(1) CC].
BARON will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011.
