The Regina Police Service has assigned an arson investigator to the case of a fire at a high school in the 400 block of Fines Drive yesterday, Thursday, September 15, 2011. The arson investigator and members of the Forensic Identification Unit, are working in conjunction with Regina Fire and Protective Services, to investigate what is being called a suspicious fire.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Fines Drives at about 4:32 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 to assist Regina Fire and Protective Services, initially by providing traffic control to firefighters at the scene. At the point where the investigation supported the theory that the fire may have been deliberately set, the Regina Police Service assigned an arson investigator and the investigation became a criminal investigation.
