A 29 year-old Regina male is facing charges in connection with an aggravated assault on Thursday, June 30, 2011, that sent a 26 year-old male to hospital with serious injuries.
At 6:12 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Quebec Street for a report of an injured male. When police arrived, the injured person was not in sight; he was discovered moments later in the area of Victoria Avenue and Quebec Street. He was transported by EMS to hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious. Preliminary investigation indicated that an altercation occurred, at a house on the 1700 block of Quebec Street, between two males who were known to each other. The seriously-injured 26 year-old victim left the house and walked southbound toward Victoria Avenue, where he was located by police and EMS. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 29 year-old Regina male who was subsequently charged in connection with the aggravated assault. The 26 year-old victim was found to be the subject of outstanding warrants and has also been arrested and remanded.
Twenty-nine year-old Clyfton Charles HUNTER, DOB: 1982-02-27, of Regina is charged with Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC] and Breach of Recognizance [811 CC]. HUNTER has been remanded into custody and will appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2011.
