The Regina Police Service confirms that the 18 year-old female, who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident on the 1000 block Rae Street, on Sunday, June 5, 2001, has died in hospital. The Coroner notified police of the young woman’s death at approximately 11:40 a.m. today, Monday, June 6, 2011.
The name of the deceased person will not be released at this time, allowing family members to make notification to extended family.
A 17 year-old female was charged with Attempt Murder and other charges yesterday, June 5, 2011 and made her first court appearance in Youth Court this morning. The death of the victim will result in changes to this investigation and charges; however, the primary investigators in the case will not be dealing with the accused today. There are no details at this time as to further charges.
