The Regina Police Service would like to extend an invitation to attend Showcase (formerly Open House) on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Shows run from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Brandt Centre, Evraz Place; admission is free.
One of the highlights of Showcase is a crime scenario that will engage members of several units within the Police Service including Patrol, Canine, the Explosives Disposal Unit, Crisis Negotiators and SWAT. Spectators will watch as the incident develops in real time with different units arriving at the scene. In addition, newly graduated recruits will be showcasing their fitness prowess. As in previous years, K9 will delight the crowd with an agility and skills demonstration. There will also be displays from different sections within the Regina Police Service, community partners, and other partners in law enforcement.
Police Service employees, retired officers and members of the Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association will be volunteering their time to help welcome guests to the Regina Police Service Showcase.
The Regina Police Service Showcase is a way of thanking the public for its support. It brings police and community, especially children, together in positive circumstances. It also encourages young people to consider the possibilities offered by a career in policing.
