The Regina Police Service is investigating a shooting incident that sent one male to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning, May 8, 2011.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2011, police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Sandra Schmirler Way for a report of a male injured by gunshot. Police found a 30 year-old male at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound. EMS was brought into the area to treat and transport the male to hospital. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim and others were leaving a social function at that location when an unknown person fired shots; one projectile struck the 30 year-old victim. Police gathered evidence and information at the scene; there have been no arrests yet in this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
