A 33 year-old Regina male is facing eleven sexual-assault-related charges following an investigation into events alleged to have occurred in 2006 and 2007. The allegations concern a single male victim, who was fifteen years old in 2006 and sixteen in 2007.
The Regina Police Service began an investigation in late 2010, after having received information alleging that, in 2006, an adult male had invited a then-fifteen-year-old male to touch his body for a sexual purpose. In all, it is alleged five events of a sexual nature occurred between March of 2006 and June of 2007, involving the same young male victim and the same suspect. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 33 year-old Regina male on April 21, 2011.
Thirty-three year-old Corey Randall MATTHEWS, DOB: 1977-04-28, of Regina, is facing four charges of Sexual Assault [271 CC]; five charges of Sexual Exploitation [153(1)(a) CC]; and two charges of Anal Intercourse [159(1) CC]. MATTHEWS will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011.
