One more male, aged 23, has been charged in connection with the January 2010 death of 26 year-old Raymond Bernard GARDYPIE of Regina. Raymond GARDYPIE was the first victim of homicide in Regina last year (2010).
On January 10, 2010, at about 12:30 a.m., police received information indicating that there was a deceased person in a house in the 1000 block of Retallack Street. Moments later, police discovered the body of 26 year-old Raymond GARDYPIE. The ensuing homicide investigation led to the arrests on January 12, 2010, December 30, 2010 and February 24, 2011, of five males aged 17, 20, 21, 22 and 24. All were charged with Second Degree Murder, in connection with GARDYPIE’s death. Continued investigation has led to the arrest of one more individual who faces Second Degree Murder charges in connection with the murder of Raymond GARDYPIE. The most recent arrest occurred on March 4, 2011.
Twenty-three year old Ryan Leon KAY, DOB: 1987-12-08, of Regina, is charged with Second Degree Murder [235(1) CC]. He will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court, at 9:30 am, on Monday, March 7, 2011.
