Two people, a 29 year-old female and a 36 year-old male, have been charged with Robbery and Forcible Confinement in connection with two incidents that occurred on Friday, January 14, 2011 and in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 15, 2011.
At about 11:40 p.m., on Friday, January 14, 2011, police were dispatched to take a complaint of robbery and forcible confinement involving a 40 year-old male, who said, earlier that evening, he had bought the services of a sex-trade worker and then had been confined by a male holding a knife and robbed of his money, bank card and savings. The male escaped and reported to police. The investigation into this incident took police to a house in the 1100 block of McTavish Street, the address the victim named as the location of the robbery and forcible confinement. While there, police observed what appeared to be a second, similar offence in progress: a male and a female completed a sex act as a second male advanced and then held the first male down as the female went through his pockets. Police intervened and arrested the male and female suspects. The second victim, a 21 year-old male, was not physically injured. Investigation led to numerous charges against the suspects.
Both 29 year-old Denise Eleanor DUSTYHORN, DOB: 1981-11-21, and 36 year-old Sheldon Delanie Runns, DOB: 1974-09-25, of Regina, are facing two charges of Robbery [344(b) CC] and one charge of Forcible Confinement [279(2) CC]. DUSTYHORN is also facing two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC} and two charges of Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. Both DUSTYHORN and RUNNS will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011.
