A 43 year-old Regina male appeared in court on Monday, November 8, 2010 facing two charges of Assault with a Weapon and Cruelty to Animals after investigation into an incident alleged to have occurred on Friday evening.
On November 5, 2010, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Patricia Avenue for a report of a possible threatening. It’s alleged two males arrived at a house on that block, occupied by a 46 year-old male and a 45 year-old female. An unknown male is alleged to have uttered threats against the male resident and then got into a waiting vehicle. The resident and his dog exited the house after the male suspect. It’s then alleged the driver of the car drove toward the resident and his 22 year-old neighbour. The two men jumped out of the way but the vehicle ran over the dog. The injured animal was taken to a veterinarian for treatment but was put down the following day. The driver of the car was known to the victim so police attempted to locate the suspect. The suspect came to Police Headquarters on November 6, 2010 and was subsequently charged.
