The Regina Police Service confirms that a 16 year-old male, who was the victim of a vehicle/bicycle collision yesterday, September 13, 2010, has died.
The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the area of 7th Avenue and Athol Street. Preliminary investigation by police indicates that the cyclist was travelling eastbound on 7th Avenue in the westbound lane, closest to the sidewalk. The truck involved was westbound on 7th Avenue. The cyclist, a 16 year-old male, was taken to hospital by EMS and was pronounced deceased later in the day.
Police, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to this death. Next of kin have been notified. The name of the deceased will not be released at this time.
