The Regina Police Service is investigating three sudden deaths after the discovery of three deceased persons in a residence in the Uplands neighbourhood of Regina on Friday, August 6, 2010.
At about 4:22 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2010, police were dispatched to a residence on Oakview Drive. The call came from am employee of the property management company who had entered the building after neighbours reported odour emanating from the residence and expressed their concern. The employee saw a person who appeared to be deceased, exited the house and called police. Police arrived and found three deceased persons inside the residence. At that point, patrol members secured the scene and requested additional resources including Forensic Identification and Major Crimes. The Coroner was also requested to attend.
At this early stage of this investigation police responsibilities include preserving the scene, gathering forensic evidence, establishing the identities of the deceased persons and notifying their next-of-kin, conducting interviews with other residents in the area and working with the Office of the Chief Coroner to conduct a thorough death investigation. Any sudden, unexplained death is treated as suspicious until or unless police can establish otherwise through investigation.
