Members of the media are invited to attend, and report on, the swearing-in ceremony for Regina Police Service recruits about to commence their training as members of Recruit Class #61 at the Saskatchewan Police College. Ten new recruits will be welcomed to the Regina Police Service on Friday, August 6, 2010.
The ten recruits will take their oaths, receive their badges and be officially sworn in as members of the Regina Police Service. The recruits will start their training on August 9, 2010, at the Saskatchewan Police College, which is located at the University of Regina. They will graduate on December 10, 2010, after successfully completing 18 weeks of study at the College, and will then commence their field training under the guidance of experienced Regina Police Service members
The Swearing-In Ceremony, an important event for the recruits and their families and friends, will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010, in the Bruton/Harwood Room, 3rd Floor, Regina Police Service Headquarters, 1717 Osler Street. Members of the media are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to ensure a good vantage point.
