Two individuals, males ages 24 and 43, are facing child pornography-related charges in connection with two investigations and searches executed by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, an integrated law enforcement team made up of police officers from the Regina Police Service, RCMP, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service.
The first of these searches occurred on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Members of the ICE Unit carried out a search on a Yorkton residence and, as a result, arrested and charged a 24 year-old male from Yorkton. In a separate investigation, a search warrant was executed by members of the ICE Unit today, Thursday, July 15, 2010, on a residence in the 1100 block of McIntosh Street, in Regina. As a result of this search, one 43 year-old male was arrested and charged.
Twenty-four year-old William HARDY, DOB: 1986-05-27, of Yorkton is charged with Possession of Child Pornography [163.1(4) CC] and Making Available Child Pornography (distribution of images) [163.1(3) CC]. HARDY’s next court date is August 30, 2010 in Yorkton, SK. Forty-three year-old Nels Lyndon SOERENSEN, DOB: 1967-03-08, of Regina, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography [163.1(4) CC] and Making Available Child Pornography (distribution of images) [163.1(3) CC]. SOERENSEN’s next court date is August 12, 2010, in Regina.
