The Regina Police Service has learned of a 3rd incident, a robbery, which occurred at approximately the same time and in the same area as the two shootings which occurred on May 22, 2010.
At approximately 3:45 am on Saturday, May 22, 2010, the Regina Police Service was called to a robbery which occurred in the 1400 Robinson Street. One male has been arrested for offenses related to the robbery; charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.
At approximately 3:46 am, on Saturday, May 22, 2010, police were dispatched to a house in the 1400 block of Garnet Street for a firearm call. The incident occurred in the back yard of a house in the 1400 block of Garnet Street. A 21 year-old female was transported to hospital with a gun shot wound; she was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:55 am. The name of the deceased is Jodi Lynn BRYANT (DOB: 1988-12-31), of Kamsack, Sk. This is now a homicide investigation and Police are working with the office of the Chief Coroner. The investigation is continuing.
At approximately 4:06 am, on Saturday, May 22, 2010, police were dispatched to a house in the 1100 block of Wascana Street for a firearm call. Preliminary investigation indicates that a robbery occurred just prior to the shooting of a 21 year-old male. The incident occurred on the street in front of a house in the 1100 block of Wascana Street. A 21 year-old male was transported to hospital in serious condition, and remains in hospital. One male has been arrested for offenses related to this incident; no charges have been laid. The investigation is continuing.
At this time police are continuing to investigate all three incidents separately; however, are looking into any possible connections. There is nothing to indicate this is gang related. All three investigations are active and ongoing. There is no more information to release at this time.
