How to Report a Collision

Effective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:

  1. Any bodily injury or death
  2. A Hit-and-Run
  3. A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs
  4. A motor vehicle towed from the scene
  5. An out-of-province vehicle.

 

Normally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters at 1717 Osler Street. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.

If you are reporting a motor vehicle collision that involves damage to a vehicle or other property and does not fall into a category listed above, please make your report directly to SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance) Dial-a-Claim:
