Effective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:
- Any bodily injury or death
- A Hit-and-Run
- A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs
- A motor vehicle towed from the scene
- An out-of-province vehicle.
Normally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner’s discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters at 1717 Osler Street. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.
