The Alliance of Asset Champions is a community collaboration focused on developing a thriving, sustainable community and improving individual, family and community well-being through the promotion of the 40 Developmental Assets. Alliance members are individuals who act on a shared vision of a supportive community working together to improve the well-being of children, youth and families – a community prepared, energized and committed to take action. Youth, children, parents, families, teachers, ministers, police, business owners – the entire community – will benefit by increasing the External Assets in the community (social supports, relationships and activities) and the Internal Assets in its citizens (positive values, skills and beliefs). The benefits are inter-related: as family functioning and family strengths increase so will nurturing of Internal Assets and resilience in children and youth. As resilience and Internal Assets increase in children and youth so will social connectedness, success in school and citizenship.
