Chief's Message

Chief Troy HagenThe Regina Police Service has a rich and long history of providing quality public service. We strive to ensure we are delivering professional service to our community. Organizationally, we are committed to a community policing philosophy, which ensures we are working with our citizens to address community concerns.

As of January 2008, we restructured our front-line policing management model to create a new central district that encompasses the Core, Market Square and North Central communities. This district will provide an enhanced level of service to these communities with an emphasis on problem solving. Within the context of this plan, there will be an additional eight officers hired this year that will complement the hiring of 16 additional officers last year. The majority of these new officers will be deployed to the front-line and assigned to specific communities. We are committed to increasing the level of service throughout the entire city.

While we face many challenges, there are endless opportunities to create a safer community. During this time of economic growth, our Service must be flexible and linked with government, First Nations’ leadership, other community stakeholders and the larger community to ensure we are keeping pace as our environment changes.

I look forward to the future with optimism. We are a proud organization and I am equally proud of the men and women who work within our Service. The Regina Police Service is committed to transparency and accountability.
