On September 24, 2017 at approximately 10:35 a.m. members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of Forget St. for a report of a weapons offence. Information received was that a male left a store on the 4600 block of 2nd Avenue with unpaid merchandise and indicated in a threatening manner to another member of the public that he was carrying firearm. The male was seen entering at a residence on the 400 block of Forget Street.
Police arrived and several people were cleared from the house. Neither a firearm, nor the merchandise reported as stolen was recovered at the scene. No one was injured in this incident. The male identified as having taken the merchandise was arrested and charged.
A seventeen year-old male, who will not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charge with:
- Theft Under $5,000 [CC 334(B)];
- Fail to Comply [YCJA 137]; and
- Uttering Threats [CC 264.1(1)(A)].
The male made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, September 25, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.
