On June 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2017, the Regina Police Service Drug Unit supported by investigators of the Criminal Investigation Division and Saskatoon Police Service conducted drug enforcement as a result of criminal activity identified in the city of Regina.
As a result of a drug trafficking and public safety investigation, three individuals were arrested in Saskatoon on June 21st, 2017 by investigators from the Regina Police Service Drug Unit and members of the Saskatoon Police Service. A substantial amount of Canadian currency in various denominations was seized incident to arrest upon completion of a vehicle traffic stop. Three people were arrested from the vehicle traffic stop and criminal charges were laid.
Upon conclusion of the vehicle traffic stop in Saskatoon, five residences in Regina were subject to the execution of search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on June 21st, 2017. Six individuals were arrested during the search warrant executions. Three males were charged for several offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
On June 23rd, 2017, further drug enforcement activity was engaged as a result of the ongoing investigation. One male was arrested from a residence that was subject to another warrant to search under the CDSA.
Evidence collected during this investigation included Cocaine, Marihuana, a firearm, ammunition, Canadian currency and items indicative of drug trafficking.
A total of seven individuals have been charged as a result of this drug trafficking and public safety investigation.
