Two Regina males, ages 24 and 28, are facing drug and firearms-related charges, following enforcement by the Drug Unit and other investigative units of the Regina Police Service.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, member of the Regina Police Service Drug Unit conducted enforcement in the south end of the city based on information a firearm and drugs were present at a dwelling. This operation is part of continued Drug Unit enforcement related to drug trafficking and public safety investigations. During the enforcement, two males arrived in the immediate area. Investigators determined that both were associated to the dwelling subject to the investigation. Both males were arrested without incident. Drugs, weapons, ammunition, Canadian currency and a vehicle were seized by drug investigators in the search of a residence in the 100 block of Proctor Place.
During this time, there was a peripheral drug/firearm investigation in the north central community, which included a search warrant on a residence in the 1300 block of Garnet Street. It was determined the individuals just arrested by the Drug Unit in the south end were also subjects in the investigation in the north central area of the city. The search conducted in the 1300 block of Garnet Street yielded a sawed-off rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and a bag of ammunition for both firearms.
