A 31 year-old male, a 33 year-old male and a 33 year-old female have been charged in connection with an incident early yesterday involving a stolen vehicle, a handgun/pellet gun and the discovery of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
On Thursday, March 9, 2017, at approximately 4:00 a.m., police in the area of Broad Street and 4th Avenue, noted a vehicle bearing a license plate that did not match the vehicle. Further investigation confirmed the van was stolen so a high-risk traffic stop was initiated. The traffic stop resulted in the arrests of three individuals: two males and a female. A search of the vehicle found a handgun-style pellet gun under the seat of one of the males. One individual gave police two different false names upon arrest and a search of this person found government-issued identity documents bearing the names of other people, as well as a quantity of a substance field-tested as methamphetamine. A backpack was also searched, yielding a quantity of morphine pills and measuring/packaging items consistent with drug trafficking.
