The Regina Police Service Emergency Services teams will be conducting quarterly joint training in Regina on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Police are advising the public of the location involved so as not to cause any unnecessary alarm.
From approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the teams will be practicing on the 400 block of Alexandra Street – with the permission of the owners of the properties. Residents in the immediate area have been notified. Schools in the area have also been notified.
Anyone in the area will notice police vehicles, which may include a large Tactical Armoured Vehicle, or TAV, as well as police members in specialty uniform. All of the necessary safety checks have been performed on equipment and there is no live ammunition involved in this training. Other than the sight of police officers training at these locations, there should be no disruption to the usual everyday activity and traffic flow in the area.
