A 23 year-old female and a 20 year-old male have become the third and fourth persons charged in connection with an Attempted Murder case from May of this year. The victim is a 14 year-old male.
This investigation began on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at about 1:00 p.m., when police were dispatched to a house in the 1100 block of Cameron Street for a report of a seriously injured young male. Police and EMS attended and located a male, later identified as a 14 year-old, in serious condition inside the residence. The victim had injuries consistent with a serious, sustained physical assault and was taken to hospital by EMS. Early investigation into this incident led to identification of two suspects: a 27 year-old male, who was arrested and charged on May 14, 2016; and a 17 year-old male youth, who was arrested the following day. Both males were subsequently charged with Attempted Murder and made their first court appearances on Monday, May 16, 2016. Continued investigation into this case led to the arrest of a 20 year-old male on November 1, 2016 as well as a 23 year-old female on November 9, 2016. Both of these individuals are now also facing charges in connection with the same incident.
Twenty year-old Brayden QUEWEZANCE, DOB: 1996-10-30, of Regina, is charged with Attempt Murder [239(1)(b) CC]. QUEWEZANCE made his first court appearance on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.
Twenty-three year-old Jessica Jane DESJARLAIS, DOB: 1992-12-18, of Regina is charged with Attempt Murder [239(1)(b) CC]; Obstruct Peace Officer [129(a) CC]; and Public Mischief [140(1)(a) CC]. DESJARLAIS made her first court appearance this morning, November 9, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
