A 25 year-old Regina male is facing charges as the result of investigation into a business robbery on the 1st of September and two unrelated cases involving stolen vehicles.
On September 1, 2016, police were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of Dewdney Avenue East for a report of robbery. Preliminary investigation indicated a male entered the business with a firearm, ordered people onto the floor and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from one of the employees before leaving. No one was physically injured in this incident. Through investigation, police were able to identify a possible suspect. On November 7, 2016, a 25 year-old male was arrested on an unrelated file: possession of a stolen vehicle (offence date: June 17, 2016). The investigation that followed this arrest linked the same suspect to the business robbery on September 1st. (Investigators believe the firearm used in the September robbery was a realistic-looking imitation.) The male suspect was also charged in a third, unrelated file: the theft of vehicle, committed on November 3, 2016.
Twenty-five year-old Royce Wayne JASPER, DOB: 1991-01-07, of Regina is charged with:
– Armed Robbery, s. 343(d) CC;
– Wearing a Mask/Disguise in the Commission of an Indictable Offence, s. 351(2) CC;
– Possession of Stolen Vehicle, s. 355 (a) CC; and
– Theft of Motor Vehicle, s. 333.1(1) CC.
JASPER made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
