Police began this investigation when they were called to hospital around 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016. A 22 year-old woman was being treated for injuries consistent with an assault with a sharp-edged weapon. In their preliminary investigation, officers learned that the victim was at a friend’s place on Sunday night and was walking alone to the 1900 block St. John Street, when she was approached by two unknown males, who demanded money. The victim said she was struck with something hard and the males took a small amount of cash from her. The victim wasn’t sure of the exact location but felt the robbery happened somewhere near the 1900 block of St. John Street. The only description of the males indicates they were both wearing dark clothing; both had long, dark hair; and one of the suspects had a moustache. The victim received treatment in hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police have not made any arrests, at this stage, in connection with this robbery.
