A 27 year-old Regina male is facing robbery and firearms charges as the result of two attempted robberies on Saturday evening.
At approximately 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, police were dispatched to a business in the 2200 block of Broad Street for a report of a male, with a firearm, who’d allegedly attempted two robberies. Preliminary investigation indicated a male suspect, with his face covered, approached a vehicle in the parking lot, pointing what appeared to be a firearm at the 24 year-old female driver’s window. It’s alleged the suspect opened the driver’s door and pulled her out onto the ground, demanding keys to the vehicle. As a passenger in the vehicle phoned police, the male suspect fled on foot. Moments later in the lane of the 2100 block of Osler Street, a male pointed a firearm at a vehicle occupied by a 30 year-old male. The male attempted to drive away and the suspect fled. A male matching the suspect description was located by patrol members in an alley in the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue. An evidence search, conducted by a Canine team, located an M4 replica firearm. The male was arrested without incident and subsequently charged. The male was also found to be in breach of a Conditional Sentence Order (CSO) to keep the peace and be of good behavior.
