Three females, ages 11, 12 and 13 were arrested and two are facing charges following an incident outside a business in the 1800 Block of Lewvan Drive on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
The incident took place shortly after 11:15 p.m. as a group of females were walking in a parking lot outside a business in the area. The females were confronted by another group of females and the victim, a 16 year-old female, was assaulted and had her cellphone and identification stolen. The suspects fled following the robbery.
Through investigation, police were able to locate three female youths in relation to this matter. Two are facing charges.
A 12 year-old female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
- Fail to Comply [CC 145(4)(A)].
A 13 year-old female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
The third female youth involved in the incident cannot be charged due to being under the age of 12.
Both charged females will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Youth Court on September 19, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
