Two male teens, ages 13 and 14, are facing Break and enter charges after an incident overnight at Mosaic Stadium.
Police were dispatched to a report of a break and enter in progress at approximately 12:13 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Mosaic Stadium. When police arrived, they located security staff, who had a male youth in their custody for break and enter. Officers learned there was likely another suspect still in the stadium. Continued investigation led to the arrest of a second male youth. Through investigation, it was learned one the boys was in possession of keys stolen in a break-in, earlier that night, in the 1100 block of Albert Street. Investigation into both events led to charges against the two youths.
The male youths, cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 14 year-old is charged with Attempt Break and Enter [348(1)(a) CC]; Break and Enter and Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC] and Possession of Property by Crime [355(b) CC] The 13 year-old faces charges of Attempt Break and Enter [348(1)(a) CC]; and Break and Enter and Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC]. Both male youths were on Youth Court today, Friday, June 17, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
