On Friday, May 13, 2016, at approximately 4:30 am, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Cornwall Street for the report of a motor vehicle accident.
It is believed that a vehicle was travelling eastbound on 8th Avenue and crossed into the westbound lane just past Cornwall Street, where it collided with a power pole on the North side of the street, shearing the power pole off the base and leaving it hanging by the power lines. The vehicle ultimately collided against a building on Scarth Street. When EMS and police arrived, the damaged vehicle was unoccupied. Police are trying to locate the driver.
