On March 28, 2016 at approximately 5:30 am Police observed a vehicle driving erratically in the Cathedral area of the city. A short time later Police received a complaint of a vehicle matching the description driving erratically in the Eastview area and attended to observe the same. Canine members tracked the male suspect to the west alley of the 1700 block Toronto Street where again the male suspect attempted to flee on foot. The male suspect was apprehended by a Police Service Dog and taken into custody. The male suspect was transported to hospital for minor injuries. The 27 year old male has been charged with:
- Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle [249(3) CC]
- Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident [252(1.2) CC]
- Possession of Stolen Property [355(B) CC]
and will be held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on Tuesday March 29, 2016.
